First, it was a deal with Disney and now another could potentially happen as Netflix is looking in the direction of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Since announcing their controversial decision to step down from royal duties, the couple has faced criticisms ranging from mild to outright hateful.
A lot of those who didn’t welcome the development have slammed Meghan, concluding that she is the one behind the decision as she convinced her husband.
But Prince Harry in a speech given yesterday has made it known that the decision was his and that he was grateful to those who raised him after his mother (the late Princess Diana) died when he was a child.
Meghan moved to Canada shortly after the decision to leave Buckingham Palace so that she could be with their son Archie and made a voiceover deal with Disney. That wasn’t surprising considering that acting is something she has been into.
Now, Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, has expressed his interest in working with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The statement was made yesterday at an event in Los Angeles when Sarandos was asked by the Press Association News Agency if he would be interested in working with the couple. His reply was “Who wouldn’t be interested? Yes, sure.”
As the world’s leading streaming platform, Netflix has never lacked for viewing content and they are set to spend billions this year to increase the number of what viewers can enjoy.
Collaborating with Prince Harry and Meghan would be a big deal for the company and one that would surely boost viewership.
As it is, details of Meghan’s deal with Disney haven’t been made public but we know that is one that is worth a lot of money.
