Celebrated filmmaker Martin Scorsese is pairing Hollywood titans Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro for his next movie titled Killers of the Flower Moon.
Robert De Niro had been rumored to be in Scorsese’s next feature but his involvement was officially confirmed during the weekend at the Screen Actors Guild Awards where he was presented with the Life Achievement Award by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Both actors and Scorsese have worked together in the 2015 short film The Audition but this will be the first time they collaborate on a feature-length film.
De Niro and DiCaprio both starred in This Boys Life (1993) and it was instrumental in the latter’s rise in the movie industry after he was introduced to audiences in the sitcom Growing Pains.
Both of them also featured in the 1996 drama Marvin’s Room and DiCaprio while presenting De Niro with the award on Sunday said the older actor had been his role model right from when he was a teen.
Martin Scorsese’s latest film The Irishman was both a critical and commercial success, and it has won a few accolades. Details of the plot of Killers of the Flower Moon remain obscure as the date for preproduction hasn’t been announced.
