While carrying on our heads basket full problems we face as a country, some members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shi’ites on Monday led dramatic demonstration and protest in Banex, Wuse Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The Shi’ite members were protesting over the killing of top Iranian general Qasem Soleimani following an airstrike by the United States of America.
They also demanded the release of their leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat who are currently in detention.
The angry protesters marched the streets of Abuja chanting hate songs and slogans like “Death To America.” they also burnt the United States flags and carried all sorts of placard with anti-American inscription.
Some commentators in the metropolis of Abuja, in response to the scene said that the act was a total manifestation of madness. A commentator said the protesters were so idle they never thought of a better way to make use of their free time that they exhibited an open drama to the pleasure of the Nigeria audience. We have our problems to handle as a country, but allowing ourselves to be used as proxies in wars that do not affect us is adventure that is so unfruitful.
