Taron Egerton and Scarlet Johansson are being considered for roles in a new film adaptation of the classic musical Little Shop of Horrors.
Egerton’s performance in the Elton John biopic Rocketman (2019) earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, and Johansson received critical praise and award nominations for playing a single mother in Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit (2019).
Reports indicate that Egerton is wanted for the lead role of Seymour Krelborn while Johansson is being considered for the role of Audrey.
Little Shop of Horrors follows the story of a nerdy florist who stumbles on a plant that appears after an eclipse of the sun. He takes it back to his flower shop so as to attract customers. But the thing is that he has to feed it with human blood and meat for it to be healthy.
The 1984 film was directed by Frank Oz and starred Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, and Bill Murray. The musical came from Alen Menken and Miles Goodman.
