American singer and songwriter Babyface has shocked fans by revealing that the late King of Pop Michael Jackson tried to go out on a date with actress Halle Berry.
Babyface, a Grammy Award winning singer, chatted with Teddy Riley on Instagram Live and listened to MJ‘s songs.
Michael had apparently asked Babyface to get him in contact with Halle Berry because he wanted to go out on a date with her.
Babyface said:
“Speaking of MJ, it reminds me of this true story, fun fact. One time, Michael called me. ‘Babyface, do you know who Halle Berry is?’, he asked. ‘Could you do me a favor? I want you to call her cos I want to take her out on a date.’ I asked, ‘What?’ He said, ‘Call her, I want to take her out on a date.’ So I reached for him, for the agent because I didn’t have Halle Berry’s number.
I called and gave the message and the manager’s like ‘What?’ I said, ‘Yeah, he really wants to take her out on a date.’ And I was waiting to hear back from her and I cannot tell you exactly what Halle said, but I just imagine it probably would have been something like this …”
At that moment, Babyface played a brief part of Halle’s voice from the movie Boomerang that goes: ‘You know, what do you know about love? What do you possibly think you know about love?’
Halle Berry is one of the most accomplished black American actresses in Hollywood, having starred in a wide range of films, including the original X-Men trilogy where she played the mutant Ororo Monroe, a.k.a. Storm.
She reprised the role of Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
