Zamfara: Repentant Bandits Rescue 12 Kidnapped Victims From Their “Unrepentant Kinsmen”

Some repentant bandits in Zamfara state have helped the police in rescuing 12 Kidnapped victims.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu.

The Police PRO said that the victims were rescued after the repentant bandits ambushed their “unrepentant kinsmen”

“On 27th May 2020, the Zamfara State Peace Committee in collaboration with some repentant bandits have secured the release of twelve Kidnapped victims,” the statement reads.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo, said the victims were rescued as a result of the fulfilment of a pledge made by the repentant bandits to fight their kinsmen who refused to surrender.

The commissioner commended the repentant bandits for the confidence they reposed in the state government and security agencies.

He called on them to sustain the tempo assuring them that the security agencies would continue to partner them to ensure peace and security in the state.
