Kingsley Nsikak, 38, is in police custody in Ondo State after allegedly beating his father, Peter Adone, 65, to death during a fight at their home in Oda community.
The violent confrontation happened on May 28. Nsikak and Adone got into a heated argument that turned physical, leaving the older man with severe injuries. Medical personnel tried to save him, but Adone died from his wounds.
Daniel Moses, another son of the deceased and Nsikak's brother, reported the incident to police. Detectives moved quickly and arrested Nsikak for questioning.
Abayomi Jimoh, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, said the death has shocked residents of Oda in Akure South Local Government Area. Adone's body is in the morgue. Jimoh said that once investigations conclude, Nsikak will face charges in court.
