American filmmaker Victoria Mahoney will make her directorial debut with Paramount’s upcoming film Kill Them All.
Victoria Mahoney is the first woman to work behind the camera on a Star Wars movie, and now The Wrap reports that she is set to direct Paramount’s adaptation of a graphic novel by Kyle Starks.
The project is produced by Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), with a script from James Coyne.
Kill Them All is about a hard-drinking ex-cop who wants his job back and the world’s greatest assassin who seeks revenge. They can get want they want if they can fight their way to the top floor of a skyscraper of crime, and if they can kill them all.
According to the report, the movie is like a reverse Die Hard, except that the duo will be fighting their way up into the building rather than attempting to fight their way out.
The two main characters fight through 20 floors of crime lords, gang bosses, ex-boyfriends, office workers, political intrigue, henchmen, burgeoning friendships, and the inescapable grips of their pasts.
Mahoney was selected personally by director J.J. Abrams as his second unit director on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. She worked as an actress throughout the early 1990s and early 2000s.
Her most recent appearance in front of the camera was a cameo in Ava DuVernay’s short film Say Yes (2013).
