Spanish club Almeria have celebrated Sadiq Umar’s maiden invitation to the Super Eagles, Completesports.com reports.
Sadiq was on Tuesday named in Nigeria’s squad for this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Benin and Lesotho by head coach Gernot Rohr.
The 24-year-old has been blistering form for the club this season, netting 14 times in 25 league appearances.

The former AS Roma striker will look to earn his first cap with the Super Eagles after previously representing Nigeria at U-23 level.
Sadiq was part of the U-23 team that won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
He appeared in all six of his team’s games and scored four goals in the process, including a brace in the third-place victory over Honduras.
