Nigerian singer, Olawale Olofooro, popularly known as Brymo, has sparked a debate on social media after he endorsed former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for president.

While replying to a post about Tinubu, Brymo described the ex-Lagos governor as a “City boy” with a plan for the country.
A tweeter user @ambrosia_ijebu had written, “This Jagaban (as Tinubu is also called) candidacy has truly helped me see that so many Nigerians actually don’t care about purposeful or diligent leadership.”
And responding, Brymo said “Yet he’s the one with a plan, we all know that. Let a city boy be president for once!”
He added, “I’ve never met the man, or anyone who represents, or is acquainted with him, or even his relations and political affiliates – and if we stopped trying to kill them off for being old.”

Explaining his tweet, Brymo wrote, “About having a plan; You live in what town?.. I live in Lagos.. Yeah! City Boy. It is like Lagos moving into Aso rock. It is guaranteed to work!
“Even if looting is rife it’ll still be the best presidency yet. On God!”

Brymo’s tweets have however sparked differing reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians on Twitter. While some berated the singer for campaigning for Tinubu, others praised him for his action.

So you want him to be president not because he’s competent, but because he’s a “city boy”? Omo!!
Then you talk about his plans, what plans exactly? Is it the one of recruiting 50m youths to the army and feeding them cassava? Wtf!
Wale stick to making music please. https://t.co/T78CU4jEOS

Nobody is against the fact that City boy had made his mark politically and nurtured Political leaders. But the truth is he is aged and he should be resting now and giving advises to younger generations. He should just rest abeg
