Nigerians have taken to social media to knock the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari after the news of the arrest of the country’s Accountant General Idris Ahmed broke out.
Odunews.com had earlier reported how the country’s accountant-general Idris Ahmed was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over money laundering to the tune of 80billion naira.
Prior to his arrest by the anti-graft agency, Mr Ahmed has consistently insisted on the use of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel information system (IPPIS) so as to curb corruption.
The federal government argued that the payment system launched in 2006 will help in the fight against corruption. The federal government has claimed that since the inception of the IPPIS project in April 2007, the department has saved the federal government billions of Naira by eliminating thousands of ghost workers.
Nigerians have taken to social media to question the integrity of the payment platform.

If he can pilfer 80 billion through IPPIS, do we need an integrity test to confirm that it’s fraudulent? Several persons had complained but we are still waiting for nitda. All the staff of IPPIS and AG office should be arrested

The prolonged ASUU strike is creating pressure for Mr. Integrity to turn search light on the office of AGF that manages IPPIS!!!

No Wonder this man keep insisting on IPPIS structure and force all federal government workers to enroll it and i know see the reason why University Lecturers reject it at the first place but they were forced to enrolled it, this man Use IPPIS as his major source of income ???? https://t.co/N4aevwMENA

This not true. Now EFCC has taken up the courage to arrest AGF, IPPIS that has been in use for over 10 years is to be subjected to integrity test under the command of Mr. Integrity!!! IPPIS is a fraud. Learnt that AGF is gone beyond retirement age and still kept in the job!!!

University Staff have been complaining about the irregularities of IPPIS (which is under the office of the Accountant General of the Federal) and people thought we were being too greedy. The same Account General of the Federation has been arrested for 'allegedly'syphoning 80bn!

The IPPIS is a conduit pipe through which billions of Naira are diverted into private pockets. Federal civil servants are shortchanged of their hard earned income every month. Pensioners are not paid their gratuities. That's why govt officials are frustrating the ASUU's UTAS.
