The killing of a pregnant woman and her four kids by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra in Anambra has spurred angry reactions among Nigerians on social media.
There has been a spate of violence recorded in some parts of the southeast in recent times. A lawmaker was beheaded by gunmen in Aguata local government area of Anambra state.
A video trending on Twitter shows the dead bodies of a woman and her four children lying on the floor. The woman has since been identified as Harira and her first daughter Fatima.
Popular social critic and politician, Ahmed Garba, disclosed that the woman is from Adamawa state. Speaking via his Twitter handle, Garba condemned the silence of the media in bringing Fatima’s name to the fore.
While many users unanimously condemned the killing, a few have compared the killing to the mob action that led to the death of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto state over blasphemy.
