
Chadwick Boseman was celebrated during the 93rd Academy Awards, and his family was grateful for the recognition he received during the ceremony. Allen Boseman, Chadwick’s cousin and family attorney, expressed his appreciation for the love and support the late actor has received from the Hollywood community, saying, “It’s been incredible how Chadwick has been received by the entire Hollywood family and how his legacy continues to live on.”
Boseman went on to say that even though Chadwick is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of his peers and fellow actors and actresses. He added that Chadwick was a figurative king in the movies but has become a real king to many others, including those in his family.
During the Oscars, Danai Gurira, who starred alongside Boseman in “Black Panther,” paid homage to the late actor before Rihanna performed “Lift Me Up.” Ruth E. Carter, who won Best Costume Design for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” also gave a touching tribute to Chadwick and her late mother in her acceptance speech, saying “Chadwick, please take care of mom.”

Chadwick Boseman played King T’Challa in “Black Panther” and passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 after battling colon cancer for four years. Despite his untimely death, Boseman’s legacy continues to inspire and uplift many people around the world.
“Chadwick embodied the Wakandan King, T’Challa. The one chosen to uplift, to protect, to keep us safe. His legacy will live on for future generations…Thank you, King.”
