Music enthusiasts and fans across Nigeria and Africa at large have reason to rejoice as the organizers of the highly anticipated inaugural Trace Awards have unveiled a star-studded lineup of performers set to grace the grand stage.
The event, set to take place on October 21, 2023, at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, promises to be a night of electrifying performances and celebrations of African music talent.
The announcement, which sent waves of excitement throughout the music industry, features an impressive array of Nigerian music heavyweights, including the prolific Davido and the rising star Asake. The duo is expected to deliver electrifying performances that will undoubtedly leave the audience in awe.
Joining Davido and Asake are an ensemble of exceptional talents spanning various genres, including the versatile Kizz Daniel, Afrobeat sensation Bamby, gospel icon Benjamin Dube, the sensational Black Sherif, the promising Blxckie, Rwandan sensation Bruce Melodie, Bwiza, Didi B, Dystinct, Janet Otieno, Ivorian sensation Josey, and Portuguese-Mozambican crooner Lisandro Cuxi.
The musical extravaganza doesn’t end there; the list of performers also includes the Cameroonian sensation Locko, the multitalented Mikl, the soulful Perola, the innovative Plutionk, the enchanting Princess Lover, the rising star Ronisia, the Haitian sensation Rutshelle Guillaume, the Cape Verdean sensation Soraia Ramos, the dynamic Tay C, the captivating Terrell Elymoor, and the vivacious Viviane Chidid.
Adding to the excitement, the event’s house band will be none other than The Composers, an incredibly talented musical ensemble, ensuring that the musical experience remains top-notch throughout the ceremony.

The Trace Awards are set to be a global spectacle, with a live broadcast scheduled on Trace TV channels, radio, and various digital platforms, as well as global streaming platforms and satellite channels. Earlier, the organizers had revealed the nominees for the awards, with Nigerian superstars Davido and Burna Boy leading the pack with four nominations each.
Olivier Laouchez, Trace Chairman, and co-founder expressed his admiration for African artists, calling them “extraordinarily creative and dynamic,” and emphasized their deserving recognition on a global scale.
He stated, “They represent a massive cultural force and deserve more global recognition and celebration. The Trace Awards’ nominations salute achievement and excellence from more than 150 performers.”
