Recently, on Thursday, the police took the extraordinary step of exhuming Mohbad’s remains to conduct a thorough autopsy, with the results eagerly awaited.

Speaking during the anniversary of The Envoy Nation, a UK-based church, on Sunday, titled ‘Harvest’, Bakare shared his thoughts on Mohbad’s life choices and the consequences they may have had on his fate. In his address, he noted that the late singer had “associated with evil people while he was alive.”

Bakare argued that Mohbad had led an “unpleasant lifestyle” and had failed to foresee the imminent challenges that life could present, especially for someone with fame and youth on their side. He posed a rhetorical question to the congregation, asking if the name “Mohbad” itself was indicative of a virtuous and upright character.

My wife and I listened to a tape last night on MohBad. How many of you know Mohbad? The Nigerian artiste who died at 27? Mohbad,” Bakare questioned the gathering. “When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth. I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is Mohbad a good name? Moh Bad.”

As the nation continues to grapple with the tragic loss of Mohbad and the investigation into his death unfolds, the comments by General Overseer Tunde Bakare have added a new layer to the ongoing discourse surrounding the late singer’s life and choices.

The demand for justice and the pursuit of truth regarding Mohbad’s demise remain at the forefront of public consciousness, with the police’s autopsy results expected to provide crucial insights into this high-profile case.
