Chinese President Xi Jinping Arrives In US

In a significant diplomatic development, Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in San Francisco to participate in a landmark summit with President Joe Biden.

The high-stakes meeting also marks the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, a pivotal event on the global stage that commenced on November 14 and is set to conclude on November 17.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the Chinese Ambassador to the United States, Xie Feng, confirmed President Xi’s arrival in San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon, local time.

The statement read: “Xi was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by numerous overseas Chinese citizens, including Chinese students studying abroad, who lined the routes from the airport, proudly waving both Chinese and American flags to extend a warm welcome to the Chinese President.”

Joining President Xi on the historic visit were prominent Chinese dignitaries, including Cai Qi, a distinguished member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who also holds a significant position in the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Both leaders arrived in San Francisco on the same flight, underlining the significance of this diplomatic mission.

San Francisco International Airport witnessed a cordial reception for President Xi, with senior U.S. officials, such as U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen and California Governor Gavin Newsom, extending a warm welcome to the visiting Chinese leader.
