Yussif Basigi, the head coach of Ghana’s Black Princesses, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to take on the Falconets of Nigeria.
The much-anticipated clash will take place in the women’s football final at the Cape Coast Stadium, set for Thursday evening.
The game is scheduled to begin at 9pm, according to Nigerian local time.
Nigeria’s team boasts an impeccable record at the 13th African Games, having won all three of their matches.
Under the guidance of Chris Danjuma, the Falconets have managed to net eight goals while keeping their own sheet clean.
Despite acknowledging the formidable prowess of the Falconets, Basigi believes his squad possesses the necessary skills and strategies to emerge victorious.
“At a press briefing, Basigi remarked, “We adapt our play style and considering the caliber of the Nigerians, I believe teams like Uganda and Senegal also presented strong challenges, yet we triumphed over them.”
“Nigeria is a robust and tactically adept team, and we are equipped to compete against them. My previous experiences facing the Super Falcons as the Black Queens’ head coach have familiarized me with Nigerian football,” he added.
