Actor Chris Evans has been cast in the upcoming remake of the classic musical Little Shop of Horrors.
Evans will play the part of the dentist Orin Scrivello, an abusive and sadistic man who finds great pleasure in his profession. The movie is directed by Greg Berlanti and the role was previously played by Steve Martin in the 1986 film.
The Captain America star usually is known for portraying the good guys in movies, so it would be interesting to see how he brings the antagonistic dentist to life.
The plot tells the story of Seymour, a gentle florist who works at the struggling shop called Skid Row Florists, where he is secretly in love with a woman named Audrey.
Seymour becomes famous when he discovers an unusual plant which he names Audrey II (to be played by Billy Porter). But his life becomes complicated the plant starts to demand human blood as food.
Little Shop of Horrors comes from Warner Bros. and Scarlet Johansson and Taron Egerton are billed to co-star as Audrey and Seymour respectively.
The new adaptation is being produced by Marc Platt, Sarah Schechter, and Berlanti. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
