Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is using her social media account to speak out against racial injustice.
The movie star whose Hollywood career took off after she was spotted at age 14 by a talent scout has featured in movies that have earned a total gross of over $6 billion worldwide.
Lawrence was the highest-paid actress in the world in 2015 and 2016, and also appeared in Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World list in 2013 and in the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2014 and 2016.
Best known for her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise and the mutant Mystique in the X-Men film series, the 29-year-old star joined Twitter recently and is using her platform to condemn racial injustice, actively supporting the organization, Represent Us.
Represent Us aims to “bring together conservatives, progressives, and everyone in between to pass powerful anti-corruption laws that stop political bribery, end secret money, and fix our broken elections.”
