Four Nollywood actors from the film Kasala are taking the stage together. Emeka Nwagbaraocha, Chimezie Imo, Tomiwa Tegbe, and Mike Afolarin have announced a new theatrical production called Project X… Almost Famous, which they are executive producing and starring in alongside each other.
The four actors have launched The MECT Company, a creative collective built on years of friendship and shared storytelling ambitions. Written by Chiemeka Osuagwu and directed by Goodness Emmanuel, the play follows four friends who are former members of a defunct music group called 4-Eva as they navigate life in Lagos.
The story deals with brotherhood, ambition, failure, survival, and hope. It weaves together sharp dialogue, live musical elements, and emotional honesty against the backdrop of contemporary Lagos. The actors said in a joint statement: "Since Kasala, each of us has continued to grow individually, but there's something special about coming back together. This project is personal. It's about the friendships that hold us up, the dreams we refuse to let die, and the city that tests us every single day."
The production runs for two weekends at the MUSON Centre, Agip Hall in Lagos. Shows are scheduled for Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July, and Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July 2025. The producers will announce full cast details and ticket information in the coming weeks.
