Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have been released from the hospital following the confirmation that they tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Hollywood couple was the first to contract the dreaded illness and Tom Hanks made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday.
Both movie stars were in Australia for a biopic based on the life of Elvis Presley when they contracted the virus.
People has reported that Hanks and Wilson were released from the Queensland hospital where they have been in quarantine for 5 days. They are now in self-isolation in a rented house in Australia.
Hanks showed gratitude to those who had helped him in the hospital by posting a picture of a stuffed animal kangaroo and koala around his vegemite toast.
Since Hanks and his wife tested positive for COVID-19, two other movie stars have also been announced to have the virus; Bond girl Olga Kurylenko and most recently, Idris Elba.
