During a broadcast in the state yesterday, the Governor announced that the use of face masks in public has been made compulsory for residents.

The Kano State Governor condemned how residents are responding to the COVID-19 protocols, warning that his administration would fold its arms further but will ensure it dealt with violators of the laid down rules.

Ganduje noted that henceforth, anyone found not wearing his facemask would be arrested, prosecuted and sent to prison.

“There was no reason for residents to move around without face masks as the government has made masks available to everyone and that people could also wear anything to protect themselves and others,” Ganduje was quoted saying.

He, however, promised that his administration would make available a million and more facemask to residents as parts of its means to combat Coronavirus in the state.
