Suspended and demoted deputy police commissioner, Abba Kyari, has filed a suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja challenging his detention by the federal government.

Kyari, who was arrested by the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba and handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over his alleged involvement in a drugs trafficking cartel, had been in detention since February 14.
In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22, Kyari sought an order of court to enforce his fundamental rights to liberty.
The court is set to hear the application.
