The family of slain rapper XXXTentacion, led by his mother Cleopatra Bernard, is expressing relief and gratitude after three men were convicted of his murder. Bernard conveyed her family’s appreciation for the jury’s guilty verdict and the prosecutors’ efforts during the trial. She said the outcome brings closure and allows the family to move forward in peace.
Bernard also expressed gratitude to the late rapper’s fans for their unwavering support throughout this ordeal, both online and in some cases, in person.
XXXTentacion’s Convicted Murderers Face Prison Time
Bernard revealed that she had anticipated the guilty verdict for the three defendants—Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome, and Dedrick Williams. After two weeks of deliberations, the jury convicted the trio of murder. Bernard, who attended the court proceedings wearing a shirt featuring her son’s image, described the experience as emotionally draining but is glad it’s finally over.
She also dismissed the defense team’s attempt to involve Canadian rapper Drake in the case as a desperate strategy to sow doubt. Bernard and her family have always been confident in knowing who was responsible for her son’s death.
The three convicted individuals now face significant prison sentences. Their convictions were solidified when another person involved in the murder admitted to his role and testified against them, laying out the entire sequence of events.
