The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Fatai Tijani, has called on all applicants participating in the 2025 Police Constable Recruitment Exercise to finish their screening process before the Saturday deadline. Tijani made this urgent appeal on Thursday during an inspection visit to the screening centre located at the Police College in Ikeja, where he assessed the ongoing exercise and confirmed that all operations aligned with established guidelines.
During his visit, the commissioner met with officials from the Police Service Commission, the Federal Character Commission, and the Police Community Relations Committee. These bodies are stationed at the screening centre to monitor the recruitment process and ensure that fairness and transparency are maintained throughout the exercise.
Tijani expressed satisfaction with how the screening centre operated. He commended the level of organisation on display and praised the coordination and professionalism demonstrated by all the agencies involved in running the exercise. The commissioner noted that the entire recruitment process follows directives issued by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, who has made strengthening transparency and merit in police recruitment a priority across the nation.
The screening exercise began on March 9 and will conclude on Saturday, leaving applicants with limited time to complete their participation. Tijani warned that any applicant who fails to undergo screening within the stipulated timeframe risks automatic disqualification from the recruitment process. This warning underscores the importance of meeting the deadline, as missing it will result in permanent removal from consideration.
The commissioner took the opportunity to reassure members of the public about the command's unwavering commitment to fairness, accountability, and integrity throughout the entire recruitment exercise. He emphasised that the police authority is determined to ensure that the selection of new constables is done on merit and without any form of discrimination or favouritism.
Applicants who have not yet completed their screening are encouraged to visit the Police College Ikeja centre before Saturday to avoid missing out on this recruitment opportunity. The command's spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Abimbola Adebisi, issued the official statement containing these details on Thursday in Lagos.
