Eyimofe, a film by twin brothers Arie and Chuko Esiri, is set to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival as a tribute to Nigeria’s fast-rising movie industry.
Starting next month (February 2020), Eyimofe (which literally means ‘This is my desire’) will be shown at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival and this continues what has been an impressive ride so far as it won the Purple List Award in 2018.
The movie will be shown in the forum section of the event which will hold in Germany.
The story revolves around the endless pursuit by migrants for greener pastures in Europe and the harsh realities they often meet when they get there.
The focus of the plot is on two individuals who believe that their quest to the foreign land will eventually lead to a better life.
Eyimofe is presented by Guardian’s GDN Studios and comes from a script by Chuko Esiri. It is produced by Melissa Adeyemo and stars Jude Akuwudike, Tomiwa Edun, Temi Ami-Williams, Cynthia Ebijie, and Jacob Alexander.
