Hollywood actor Jon Hamm is currently in talks to join Steven Soderbergh’s crime drama Kill Switch.
If the deal goes through, the Bad Times At The El Royale star will join fellow actors Don Cheadle and Sebastian Stan who are already signed on.
Written by Ed Solomon, Kill Switch is described as a crime drama set in the 1950s in Detroit and is about a trio of criminals who carry out a home invasion only to wonder if they’ve been double-crossed when the job goes sideways.
Hamm is in negotiations to play a cop hot on the trail of the criminals.
Josh Brolin (who played the villain Thanos in the MCU) was being considered to star but had to drop out due to his commitment to the Amazon series Outer Range.
The upcoming movie is produced by Casey Silver and is expected to begin filming this summer. The project is expected to be picked up by HBO Max, especially with director Steven Soderbergh’s involvement.
Jonathan Daniel Hamm is best known for playing advertising executive Don Draper in the AMC television drama series Mad Men (2007-2015).
His performance in Mad Men got him the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama in 2008 and again in 2016, and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2015.
Hamm has featured in movies like Million Dollar Arm (2014), Keeping Up With the Joneses (2016), Baby Driver (2017), and Bad Times At the El Royale (2018).
