Desmond Elliot Apologizes for 2020 EndSARS Comment, Bemoans Ongoing Backlash
Nollywood actor and politician, Desmond Elliot, has expressed his dismay over the intense hatred he receives from people following a controversial comment he made in 2020 during the #ENDSARS protest. The video of him referring to Nigerian youths as children during a plenary session at the Lagos state House of Assembly went viral and sparked outrage from most Nigerian youths. Speaking on TVC’s Your View, ‘Let’s Talk’, Elliot apologized for the comment, stating that he made it out of emotions. He called on Nigerians to spread love instead of hate and expressed his determination to stand on the fact that love conquers all. Elliot also revealed that the hatred he received had extended to the streets, where he gets verbal attacks whenever he steps out.
