In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Edwin Olofu, in Abuja, Ganduje lauded the electoral triumphs of both Uzodimma and Ododo, emphasizing that these victories underscored the Nigerian people’s enduring affinity with the APC.

The APC National Chairman expressed his elation at the remarkable support demonstrated by the electorate in Kogi State, who elected Alhaji Ahmed Ododo as their governor. He noted that these election wins in Imo and Kogi highlighted the populace’s appreciation for the tangible dividends of democracy delivered by Governor Uzodimma of Imo and the outgoing Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi.

“What gladdens me about the victory of the APC in both Kogi and Imo states is that Nigerians are appreciative of good governance, and they want continuity in peace and sustainable growth in their states. As a progressive party, we will always live up to our promises to deliver good governance,” Ganduje stated.

“The people of Imo and Kogi States can be rest assured that Uzodimma would sustain his developmental strides in the state while Ododo would consolidate the enviable legacies of Gov. Bello,” he said.

While offering congratulations to both Uzodimma and Ododo on their historic victories, Ganduje extended an olive branch to members of the opposition political parties, urging them to accept their defeat graciously.

“You are true democrats. The truth is that we are all winners at the end of the day; without a viable opposition, there won’t be contestations and democracy. I urge you to join hands with Uzodimma and the incoming governor of Kogi, Ahmed Ododo, in the task of moving your respective states forward. You all fought a good battle, and as the saying goes, there will always be another chance to test your level of acceptability among the electorate,” the APC National Chairman affirmed.

In the Imo State governorship election, Governor Hope Uzodimma secured victory with a total of 540,308 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr. Samuel Anyanwu, who garnered 71,503 votes to secure second place. The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Mr. Athan Achonu, claimed third position with 64,081 votes.

Meanwhile, in Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo emerged as the winner of the governorship election, amassing 446,237 votes. He triumphed over his closest rival, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who secured 259,052 votes. Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 46,362 votes in the keenly contested race.

These victories underscore the APC’s continued prominence in Nigerian politics and its commitment to delivering positive change to the people.
